Ledger · Mac Coming soon
Every agent session.
One record.
Ledger reads the Claude Code and Codex transcripts already on your Mac and turns them into a record you can actually use: every prompt, tool call, token and dollar, sorted onto one board, searchable across months, queryable with SQL. Nothing leaves the machine.
Noted. One email when Ledger ships, nothing else.
November 2026 · macOS 14 · Claude Code and Codex CLI
What it does
Your transcripts already have the answers. Ledger makes them readable.
One row per thing that happened
Prompt, reply, tool call, tool result, usage, cost, with a pointer back to the exact line in the source file. Sources are never modified.
A board, not a log
Every prompt from every session lands in Tasks, Questions, Ideas or Other, newest first, with the session it came from. Automated chatter is hidden.
Search across months
Full-text search over every thread, with threads reconstructed across sessions and subagents.
Reports and SQL
Turns, tool calls, tokens and dollars per session per day. Or ledger q "select …" against SQLite, one file per day.
Fast and incremental
A full backfill of 178,000 events took 12.5 seconds on an M1. A re-run with nothing new takes 0.4 seconds. Idempotent: run it as often as you like.
Local, with a copy you own
Everything stays in ~/.local/share. Optional encrypted cloud copy to your own S3 bucket, with a verify command.
When
November 2026.
Ledger has read our own sessions every night since October. What is left is a bundled binary, a generic first run and demo data. One email when it is ready, nothing else.
Requirements. macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Claude Code and/or the Codex CLI with transcripts on disk. tmux optional (session names link to threads).
One email, at launch
Tell me when Ledger ships.
No newsletter, no reminders. The address goes nowhere else.

Questions
Questions
Who is this for?
Developers running many agent sessions a day, who have lost track of what they asked, what it cost and what is still open. It was built because we had 139 Claude sessions and 215 Codex threads and no way to see across them.
Does anything leave my Mac?
No. Ledger reads local transcript files and writes local SQLite. The cloud copy is optional, goes to a bucket you own, and is encrypted on your Mac first.
Which tools does it read?
Claude Code transcripts (including subagents) and Codex CLI rollouts at launch. Other tools are added when their transcript format is stable.
Is it the same thing as Anthropic's usage page?
No. That page shows totals. Ledger shows the sessions: which prompt, which tool, what came back, what it cost, and what you still owe yourself an answer on.
